Trip Report: One More Park Before We Go

We really like having a later flight home so we get once last chance to soak up the fun. Of course, Magic Kingdom was our park of choice.

To make our day a little easier, I had asked for a late check out from our hotel room. Our bags were packed but we were able to leave them in the room. It was just a bit cool in the morning as we snuggled together at the bus stuff just before 7am. By 7:45 we had made our rounds to the other hotel stops, rode the Monorail from the Ticket & Transportation Center, and were in the anxiously waiting for our park time to begin.

The kids were hoping to ride Seven Dwarfs Mine Train again. I wasn’t so sure it would be possible. As the ropes dropped precisely at 9am we followed the crowds into Fantastyland. The line for the ride was overflowing out of the queue and towards Storybook Circus. It was a quick, but slightly disappointing decision to abandon the plan. Disappointment quickly faded away when we entered Frontierland and rode Big Thunder Mountain Railroad without a wait not once, but twice! Then marched right over to Splash Mountain without a wait too!

Next started to zigzag across the park and ran into Peter Pan and tried to help him find his shadow. We took one last Spin on Buzz Lightyear Space Range Spin, blasted around Space Mountain, and relaxed on the Peoplemover! Barnstormer was a must do before leaving which led to a quick stop at snacks inside the Big Top.

We had just enough time to take some pictures with the PhotoPass photographers, some on our own, and stop at The Confectionery for some snacks to bring home. Diva wasn’t very interested in taking “one last picture” before we left, so this is the best I was able to get on the way out of the park.

I wanted to build in enough to time to make it for the 11am bus back to the hotel. We had made it back to the bus stop at the Ticket and Transportation Center with 10 minutes to spare, but the bus was either really early and we just missed it or it never came for that time. By 11:15 it still hadn’t arrived. I was a little nervous with multiple stops on the ride back, so I called for a Lyft ride. It was there within minutes and the bus still hadn’t arrived.

We had plenty of time to pack our items from the park and wash up before getting a ride to the airport. This was officially our shortest trip. It was so packed with fun and excitement. As much as I love different moments of every trip, but this had so much magic. It may be one of favorites!
